Hello I was researching, how to register a home built boat in Va. I came across your post, very informative, but how did it go when DGIF received your application? I am getting ready to build a 14ft skiff and I am trying to get all my ducks in a row. Thanks for any and all insistence.

I apologize for taking months to respond! Thank you for your kind words and questions. The process to register the boat was very easy. I didn’t have any issues from DGIF and after submitting all the required paperwork and fees, I received my registration relatively quickly. No questions asked.
